Homewood Telecommunications Contact Information

For all telecommunications related issues dial (443-997-7628 or 410-735-7628) and follow the voice prompts:

  1. Reporting trouble with your voice service
    Ordering new voice telecommunications services    
    Requesting changes to your existing services
  2. Student Residential Telephone Service  (SRTS)
  3. Billing issues
  4. Cell phones service or printed directory inquiries
  5. All other issues

Option 1-Trouble Tickets and Work Orders or Installation and Repair

You will be connected to our telecommunications analyst who will assist you with your inquiry.

You can also e-mail your request to telecom@jhu.edu or Fax your request to Telecommunications at 443-997-7788.

Services include:

  • New installations of 10 or fewer telephone sets
  • Moves, adds, changes, or rearrangements involving 10 or fewer telephone sets
  • New Voice Mail box setup
  • New Menu-Voice Mail box setup
  • Changes in your voice mail set-up
  • Voice mail password resets
  • Any repair issues for your telephone, telephone line, or voice mailbox
  • Lost or stolen telephone sets

Note:
For any new installation, moves, adds and/or changes, please be prepared to provide details such as telephone numbers effected, locations in which the work is to be done, on-site contact names and numbers, and a University budget account to which the work can be billed. The M&S request must include the University budget number before the work order can be processed.

Please see the Standard Work Interval document on this web (add link to Work Interval page here)   site for commitment times associated with the above work items. Every effort will be made to accomplish the work in a time frame that meet your requirements.

For new installations, moves, adds, changes, or rearrangements involving 10 or more telephone sets, please call Bob Geldmacher on (443-997-7560 or 410-735-7560).  These requests will be considered "projects" with dates quoted on a case-by-case basis. In most situations, such requests result in several meetings with a department coordinator to determine specific requirements and needs.

For all installation, repair and billing inquiries as related to SRTS

Service Includes:
  • All JHU related billing issues including your telephone set and voice mail box
  • Local service charges
  • Long Distance charges
  • International charges
  • Long Distance or International billing rates
  • Time and material charges for work done at your request
  • Mobile telephone charges

Option 4-Cellular Service and Printed Directory

For all cellular and printed directory inquiries.    Cellular issues include new service request, cellular voice mail activation, repair and billing.
