How to Order/Install MATLAB

For access to the new servers beginning August 19th, follow the 'upgrading existing Matlab' instructions!!!

1.

Decide which workstations or networked PCs will run MATLAB, and how many user keys overall. Since these are "floating" network licenses you will be able to use MATLAB on any combination of systems up to the total number of keys.

2.Go to https://spars.jhu.edu/ - purchase the total number of keys you want for your group. If you just want to add hosts to an existing group without purchasing additional keys, see the section on How to Add Hosts to an Existing Group.

3.

Send email to software@jhu.edu with the list of workstation/PC hostnames to be added to the license servers. To prevent needless downtime for the license servers, we will only make changes twice a month. Related: How do I find my computer's hostname?

4.

In the meantime, you can proceed with the software installation or upgrade an existing installation. Note: you will need the appropriate JHU license.dat file for the installation or upgrade.
