If you want to add hosts (computers) to an existing MATLAB host group, you do not need to purchase additional MATLAB keys. However, additional usage may cause your group to exceed the MAX usage.

1.  Determine the name of the existing host group by checking our list of known host..

Example entry for hostgroup 'mygroup':

HOST_GROUP mygroup linux1.dept.jhu.edu linux1 \
linux2.dept.jhu.edu linux2
MAX 1 MATLAB HOST_GROUP mygroup
INCLUDE MATLAB HOST_GROUP mygroup

2.  Send email tosoftware@jhu.eduwith the list of workstation/PC hostnames and the name of the existing host group. To prevent needless downtime for the license servers, we will only make changes twice a month. Related: How do I find my computer's hostname?

Example message:

Dear software@jhu.edu, I would like to add the following hosts to the hostgroup 'mygroup'...

NOTE: In case the new hostname to be added is for a PC, be sure to add the hostname as upper and lower case.

Example: pc1.dept.jhu.edu PC1 pc1
