Referred to as a WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network) the number of access points deployed around the Johns Hopkins campuses have also grown to connect mobile devices to the Internet. Johns Hopkins Wireless Study Summary It is safe to say that the emergence of both licensed and unlicensed wireless data systems in the private and public sectors of the US and world economies has and will continue to have an impact on large enterprises, the major cellular carriers, start-up companies and equipment vendors now and in the immediate future.
