According to the New Password Policy, users must reset their JHED password every six months.  Passwords that are not changed will expire.  Users will receive one or more pop-up reminders when they log into JHED as the expiration date approaches.  In order to update your new password, you will need to verify your current password.  If you have forgotten your current password, go to the “First Time Login/Reset my Password” and follow the instructions for resetting your password. 

To reset your password, please follow these instructions:

1. Log into JHED with your JHED ID and current password.
2. Go to the ‘JHED Functions’ box and select the link for “Change Password”
3. Enter your current password followed by a new password.  Re-type your new password for verification. Note:  Old passwords may not be repeated.
4. New passwords must be at least 8 characters long but no longer than 40, and in addition to 2 alphabetic characters, they must also include at least two non-alphabetic characters. For example, digits (0-9) or symbols. 
5. Once your password has been reset, you will need to wait thirty minutes before you may change it again.

Forgot your Password?

1. Point your web browser to http://jhed.johnshopkins.edu
2. Go to the “Login” tab of your JHED window.  Once there, go to “First Time Login/Reset my Password” box and enter your JHED ID.
3. You will be prompted with your JHED ID and a box to enter the answer to your Secret Question.  If you cannot remember your Secret Question, select the link to have your Secret Question emailed to you.
4. Once you have successfully answered your Secret Question, you will be prompted to reset your password.
