JHED Migration IMPORTANT NOTICE

The JHED web site is moving into the myJohnsHopkins portal

The myJohnsHopkins portal (http://my.jhu.edu | http://my.jhmi.edu) now contains all JHED web features and the current JHED web site will retire on September 27. This means that after Sept. 27, you will be able to accomplish such important tasks as changing your Johns Hopkins password or modifying your online directory profile ONLY from within the myJohnsHopkins portal.
The JHED, or Johns Hopkins Enterprise Directory, web site has served its purpose well for the past few years. However, with the growth of the myJohnsHopkins portal, it is the appropriate time for JHED to evolve and fully integrate into the portal.

Why is this Change Taking Place?

The migration of JHED web site to the myJohnsHopkins portal is occurring for several reasons:

  • The myJohnsHopkins portal will provide a much more robust platform for future improvements to all JHED functions.
  • The Single-Sign-On (SSO) system used by myJohnsHopkins will allow users to log in once and access many tools and lots of important information.
  • Housing JHED functionality within the myJohnsHopkins portal greatly eases the administrative burden of managing both systems.

When is this Change Taking Place?

The change will phase in starting Aug. 2. In the first phase, users trying to access the JHED web site will be directed to a message explaining the change with a notice to proceed to the myJohnsHopkins portal to access JHED features. Users may continue to use the old JHED web site if they choose. The second phase will occur on Sept. 27. After this date, all employees attempting to access the JHED website will automatically be redirected to the myJohnsHopkins portal. The JHED web site will no longer be available.

How will I search for people at Johns Hopkins?

The myJohnsHopkins portal has the same search features that the current JHED web site does. You can search for people by first or last name, or through more advanced search options.

How will I access the rest of the JHED features?

JHED Web will be move inside the myJohnsHopkins portal under the "myJHED" tab.

After you successfully log into the Johns Hopkins Portal and open the “myJHED” tab, you will be able to access all the current JHED web site features.

What exactly is the myJH portal?

The myJohnsHopkins portal is a new web site designed to simplify and centralize access to online services and content available at Johns Hopkins. The site delivers targeted announcements, events information, and tools to individual Johns Hopkins users based on their institutional and divisional affiliations. For more information about the myJohnsHopkins portal or about the upcoming JHED changes, please contact Theron Feist at tfeist@jhu.edu.
