JHED-LDAP Project Integration

If you have an application you would like to integrate with JHED, please follow the steps below:

  1. Contact directoryhelp@jhmi.edu to gain access to EDIR(Enterprise Directory Information Request).
  2. Fill out an EDIR for your Project.
  3. Someone from Directory Services will contact you to verify the information in your EDIR.
  4. If necessary, a quick meeting will be held to answer any questions either you or Directory Services has about the project and/or integration with JHED.
  5. Access to the LDAP Test Server will be granted to project test server.
  6. Once project is ready, Directory Services will schedule a time to monitor the LDAP Test Server while you run through your project. This step will be repeated as necessary until your project is running correctly.
  7. User level access to your project will be granted to Directory Services for them to do a run through and make sure there is no incorrect or inappropriate usage of data or access.
  8. A “go-live” date will be selected by your project team and confirmed with Directory Services. You will send an e-mail to the Helpdesk informing them of your new application and answering any questions they have regarding support.
  9. Access to the production LDAP Server will be granted and your project will go live.
