Patient Identification System/QM SPI and PID Replacement

Brief Description

The Patient Identification System assigns HNO (Medical Record Number) and patient's core information, including Patient Name, DOB, Race, Sex, SSN, Mother's Maiden Name, Father's Name, Address, Home/Work Phone Number, Marital Status. The system allows: merging of two HNOs when two different Medical Record Numbers have been assigned to the same person, assigning outpatient visit and modifying patient information.

Latest Accomplishments -August 2009

PID

  • Created Howard County unassigned MRN stack and used MRN report
  • Completed data extracts related to evaluation if edit should be created to require mother's maiden name for MRN creation in PID and possible changes to registration systems.  Request initiated by members of Patient ID safety committee.
  • Added outpatient in a bed hold PMDB table reference to the merge program.

SPI/QM Rollout for IDX, Howard County and Keane

  • Full range of testing for HL7 IDX/QM integration in production.
  • Worked with trainers for implementation of IDX/QM integration on Citrix.
  • Completeed HCGH Meditech Data Cleanup by Medibase.
  • HCGH Meditech to supplied HL7 messages for patient link notifications.
  • JHH Interface development work is in progress.
  • Met with SMS team to provide Keane/QM/BWS implementation release.
  • Completed meetings with Medical Records to review details of all releases with various end user groups. 

SPI - Replacement of PID - PID 20/20

  • Finalizaing internal development architecture.
  • Completed screen views.
  • Continued Development of PID 20/20.
