Training Site

The web site for training is: http://portal.johnshopkins.edu/kmx

Information for the web browser based client

  • The web browser based client is required for basic access to HopkinsOne software functions.  Current information holds that all users will need access to the web client for certain functions.
  • Comprehensive lists of HopkinsOne users have been sent to various divisional/departmental groups as well as to the ICSC.  In these large spreadsheets, the term “Web” has been used to identify those who ONLY need the web client, according to their “role.”

Microsoft Windows requirements and caveats:

    • Java Runtime Edition 1.4.2_07 (Sun) and Macromedia Flash v7 player or web plug-in (Adobe) are required for use with Internet Explorer 6 SP2 to perform the HopkinsOne training modules.  You should be prompted to install these from Adobe or Sun if they are missing.  Full instructions are available on: http://www.jhu.edu/hopkinsone/Secure_Private/Toolbox/trn_softreq.htm
    • As of November 14, 2006, Internet Explorer version 7 for Microsoft Windows is not supported for the initial release of the SAP web client.  IE 7 can be uninstalled if necessary through the “Add/Remove Programs” option in Windows Control Panel.

Apple OS X requirements and caveats:

    • Java Runtime Edition 1.4.2_07 (Sun) and Macromedia Flash v7 player or web plug-in (Adobe) are required for use with Internet Explorer 6 SP2 to perform the HopkinsOne training modules.  You should be prompted to install these from Adobe or Sun if they are missing.  Full instructions are available on: http://www.jhu.edu/hopkinsone/Secure_Private/Toolbox/trn_softreq.htm
    • The HopkinsOne support site above lists software that Apple Macintosh users will be required to install for support of the FireFox browser.  Current information is that the Safari browser is NOT supported.  Support differs according to whether the user is running Mac OS X 10.2, 10.3, or 10.4.  Check the support site for the latest information.

Information for installing the “SAP GUI” client

The “SAP GUI” is a 98MB file that can be downloaded here:

http://h1support.jhmi.edu/SAPClient/HopkinsOneGUI.exe

It is installation software for the “SAP client”: the separate software that is used for various HopkinsOne features.  It is required for “more advanced users.”  Comprehensive lists of HopkinsOne users have been sent to various divisional/departmental groups as well as to the ICSC.  In these large spreadsheets, the term “Win” has been used to identify those who need this software installed, according to their “role.”
