GroupWise Users | Netscape Messenger Client To create a SPAM filter for Netscape Messenger: - Open Netscape Messenger.
- Create a folder called "spam"
- Click Edit, and then click Message Filters.
- Click New.
- Type a name for the filter.
- In the Contains box, type:
JHSPAM-ALERT - Do one of the following: To immediately delete spam messages, click Delete. To transfer emails marked "spam" into a special folder, click Inbox, and then select the folder name "spam".
- Click OK
| MS Outlook 2002 Client To create a spam filter for Microsoft Outlook 2002: - Open a new rule:
- Open Microsoft Outlook
- Click Tools from the drop down menu
- Select Rules Wizard from the Tools menu
- Click New
- Select "Start from a blank rule"
- Highlight "Check messages when they arrive"
- Click Next
- Define which messages the rule will apply to:
- Under "Which condition(s) do you want to check?" check "with specific words in the subject"
- Click "specific words" to edit words to filter on and type: JHSPAM-ALERT
- Click Add
- Click Ok
- Click Next
- Define what to do with the messages:
- Under "What do you want to do with the message?" check "move it to the specified folder"
- Click "specified" to edit folder
- Highlight "Personal Folders"
- Click "New…"
- Add Spam (or folder name of your choice)
- Click Ok
- Click Ok again
- Click Next
- Add any exceptions that you wish and then click Next
- Type a name for this rule under "Please specify a name for this rule:"
- Ensure that "Turn on this rule" is checked
- Check "Run this rule now on messages already in "Inbox"". This step moves and Spam messages that are currently in your Inbox to the Spam folder
- Click Finish
| MS Outlook Express To create a spam filter for Microsoft Outlook Express: - Open a new rule:
- Open Microsoft Outlook Express.
- Click Tools, point to Message Rules, and then click Mail. You see the New Mail Rule dialog box.
- Click "Where the Subject line contains specific words" under "Select the Conditions for your rule."
- Define what to do with the messages:
- Click "Move it to the specified folder" in "Select the Actions for your rule."
- Click "Contains specified words" in Rule Description.
- In "Type Specific Words" type: JHSPAM-ALERT
- Click Add
- Click OK.
- Click "Specified" in Rule Description.
- Choose your "SPAM" folder (if it does not exist, choose New Folder and creater a folder named "SPAM").
- Click OK.
- Type a name for this rule in the "Name of the rule" box.
- Click OK.
- Click OK in the Message Rules window.
| Eudora To create a spam filter for Eudora: - Open Eudora.
- Click Tools, and then click Filters.
- Click New.
- Under Match, check both the following: Incoming Manual\
- Under Header, and then click Subject.
- In the Contains box, type: JHSPAM-ALERT
- Go down to Action.
- Click the first box, and then select "Transfer to."
- Click "In."
- Then choose the action, Trash or to another Folder, for example SPAM (must have folder created first before you can choose it-see the instructions to create Folder).
- Go to File, and then click Save.
Create a Folder within Eudroa - Click on the Mailbox option at the top of the window
- Choose New
- Type the desired Name of the folder, then check the box that says "Make it a Folder"
- Click OK
- Folder should appear in account.
