You must request specific access for this through your LAN Administrator. Once this is complete, please do the following: All Desktop Computing LAN Services supported workstations on campus have the GroupWise client installed. If you need to define this account connection from a pc at home, you may download the full GroupWise client at: http://it.jhu.edu/email/groupwise/info/download.html Go to the tool bar within the main GroupWise client window. You should see a new tab on your GroupWise tool bar for ‘Accounts’. If all of the options are grayed out, and you have received confirmation from your LAN Administrator that you have been properly set up to use this feature, please restart GroupWise. Select this tab, scroll down to 'Account Options' At the internet accounts window select "add" Specify your account name and type of connection for POP3 or IMAP. At the 'Create Internet Account' window, specify your IMAP or POP mail server and login name Please enter information for the following settings:
Outgoing should read - smtp.johnshopkins.edu (use TLS for outbound SMTP) Incoming should read - the name of your POP/IMAP server. If using JHEM, you should use: jesmail.johnshopkins.edu and make sure you select the box to USE SSL for incoming mail server-under the advanced tab- the port should be 993 or 995.
A folder will be created, which should contain (other system, IE JHEM) mail up to the time the IMAP access was set-up. To refresh this folder, go to Accounts>Send/Retrieve. |
