Checklist: Please use the following checklist to ensure that your device is ready for setup. Obtain a handheld device either independently or through the JHU Telecom group The device must be setup on the Corporate Wireless Service Plan through Cingular or Verizon You need to have a active Groupwise email account Ensure that your LAN Admin has been notified that you will be setting up the device for wireless synchronization
Please read through and acknowledge the following Support statement before submitting the Request Form. Support for GroupWise integration with handheld PDA devices is provided in conjunction with departmental/divisional LAN support personnel. The ability to fulfill this request might vary depending on departmental support of this type of device. New Account Request Form: We are no longer taking new GroupWise Mobile Request
- Verify that the antenna is turned ON and there is a GPRS or EDGE symbol (Cingular), 1X or 1XEV symbol (Verizon) in the upper right-hand corner
- You should automatically recieve a Welcome message stating that your device has been registered
- Verizon devices require that you call *228 from the device and follow the prompts to complete activation
- Once the device has been activated you must call Customer Service to get the voicemail setup
- Cingular Customer Service dial 611 from the device or 800-331-0500
- Verizon Customer Service dial *611 from the device or 800-922-0204
