TWO LENOVO BATTERY RECALLS: Customers who bought an R Series (R51e, R52, R60, R60e), T Series (T43, T43p, T60), or X Series (X60, X60s) system between February 2005 and September 2006 may have a battery subject to recall. Additionally, customers who ordered an extra battery or received a replacement battery for any T4x or R5x Series notebook PC between February 2005 and September 2006 may also have a battery subject to recall. These batteries were manufactured by Sony. In March 2007, Lenovo issued a second recall for nine-cell, extended-life versions of a battery pack manufactured by Sanyo Electric Co. Ltd., of Japan. Lenovo sold the packs between November 2005 and February 2007 as an option in certain versions of ThinkPad notebook PCs in the R series, T series and Z series model lines. The faulty packs have the part number FRU P/N 92P1131. For details on how to determine whether or not your battery requires replacement, visit the Lenovo battery recall web site. PERFORMANCE RELATED LENOVO BATTERY RECALL: A small number of ThinkPad users have reported receiving an error message about "Irreparable Damage" to the battery. If you have received a message about irreparable damage to your computer's battery, you may click here to run the newest version of the Battery Verification Tool (released 20 Aug 2007). The Battery Verification Tool will tell you if your battery failed due to this issue, and if so, will direct you to the site where you can request a replacement.
